30 years ago a kitchen was just a secondary location in the house and so favoured a basic layout with the main focal point around the cooker. However, the last few decades have seen the kitchen transition to a primary focal point in many homes. It became a place to spend time as a family, eat together, play together and entertain friends. Life started to revolve around the kitchen creating demand for larger rooms, more space and smarter storage solutions. Households are now looking for more bespoke possibilities to make the space more personal to them.
In 2009 an already successful kitchen manufacturer from the 80’s saw a gap in the market and decided to introduce Wren Kitchens. A specialised business focussed on offering bespoke, yet affordable kitchen packages designed to provide the perfect solution for every household. Using a tailored process distilled from decades of experience Wren Kitchens put a focus on customer service and affordability without compromising on the quality you expect from a bespoke kitchen
Now 10 years later they have grown to one of the UK’s largest bespoke kitchen manufacturers. With 89 showrooms nationwide, a broad range of kitchens from modern to contemporary styles and different levels of service suited to the customers budget. It is essential that their showrooms provide an immersive experience for their customers, allowing them to experience exactly what it would be like to have a Wren kitchen in their home. Space, layout and lighting must be considered together to create this experience.
To ensure their showrooms are illuminated to meet these standards, Wren Kitchens sought after a lighting scheme that provided the required output, efficiency and colour rendering specifications that would highlight their expansive range. Supported by the JCC Projects and Lighting Design Team, they have been provided with a specialised scheme using versatile track lighting and a selection of commercial downlights/panels that highlight the attention to detail their kitchens are built with, whilst also minimising energy usage resulting in added cost savings that can be put back into growing their brand.
"The client brief was to create a vibrant and dynamic retail space that showcases Wren's dedication to excellence within each store, this was our primary focus when creating a lighting scheme."
